Oregon Men’s Baseball Bounces Back With Win Over Washington State

Oregon rallied from a 7-1 deficit on Sunday to defeat Washington State 13-7 and take two of three games from the Cougars in Pullman, Wash.


Josiah Cromwick had four hits and four RBIs while Colby Shade also had four hits in the win. After giving up seven runs in the first inning, Oregon’s bullpen kept the Cougars scoreless as UO scored seven times in the seventh inning to take the lead.


Reliever Matt Dallas threw four scoreless innings to earn conference pitcher of the week honors.
Oregon dropped the series opener 7-1 before winning 14-8 on Saturday as Tanner Smith had four hits and three RBIs.


The Ducks are 11-7, including a 3-3 conference mark, as they return home to host Northwestern State this weekend.


SOFTBALL

Allee Bunker had two hits and two RBIs as Oregon defeated No. 7 Stanford 2-1 on Saturday. The Cardinal beat the Ducks 3-1 in eight innings on Friday and 3-2 on Sunday.


The Ducks are 19-8, including a 2-4 conference mark, as they prepare to host UCLA this weekend.

California pulled away late for a 13-12 win over the Ducks on Friday at Pape Field. Two days later, the Ducks lost 18-8 against Stanford.


MEN’S GOLF

Oregon’s Owen Avrit won medalist honors to lead the Ducks to the team title at the Bandon Dunes Championship.


Avrit shot 2-under par 70 during both rounds of the tournament to finish at 4-under. Greg Solhaug was 2-over par to help the Ducks shoot 5-over par as a team.


TRACK AND FIELD

Colleen Uzoekwe won the 200-meters in 24.44 seconds for the Oregon women at the Oregon Preview. Mia Moerck and Harper McClain won the 1,500-meters and 10,000-meters, respectively.


Shelby Moran won the women’s hammer throw and Kohana Nakato won the javelin while UO’s Mason Strunk won the men’s hammer In the field, Hannah Ganashamoorthy won the women’s long jump while Hunter Angove won the men’s pole vault.

MEN’S TENNIS

Oregon picked up wins over Brigham Young and Portland State during the weekend.


Joshua Charlton, Luke Vandecasteele and Jesper Klov-Nilsson each won singles matches as the Ducks beat BYU 4-0. Charlton, Ray Lo, Vandecasteele and Quinn Vandecasteele won singles matches in a 5-2 win over PSU.


Oregon opened the week with a 4-2 loss to Texas Tech.


BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Oregon went 1-3 during a trip to the San Jose State tournament. Oregon’s lone win was 4-1 over San Francisco.


WOMEN’S TENNIS

Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral teamed up for a doubles win as did Karin Young and Myah Petchey to lead the Ducks to a 4-0 win over Colorado on Friday. Young and Petchey also won their match on Sunday while Luescher won a singles match as UO defeated Utah 4-2.
