EUGENE, OREGON — Check out these fun events happening this weekend in Lane County!
FRIDAY – Funky Friday Dance Party
Rortron and Clueless Creature will be bumping dance party tunes at The Big Dirty this Friday, August 4th. The doors open at 8 PM, Rortron plays 9:00 PM – 11:30 PM, and Clueless Creature then plays until 2:00 AM. This immersive music venue is 21+ and includes a mini arcade and photobooth downstairs for when you need a break from all the grooving.
FRIDAY – Ride, Read & Rock the Block Party
Ride, Read & Rock the Block Party this Friday, August 4th, from 4 PM – 8 PM. Bring the family to enjoy storytime on an electric bus, kid-friendly crafts, KDUK remote broadcast from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, many food trucks, and more! If you’re also attending the First Friday Art Walk, a shuttle is available between events so you can enjoy both!
SATURDAY – Paint & Sip – Summer Dream
A beautiful Summer Dream version of Paint & Sip with Alejandro is happening this Saturday, August 5th, from 3 PM – 5 PM at the 5th Street Public Market. This class is beginner-friendly and all supplies are provided for you to paint a picture that captures summer’s charm and allure, under incredibly helpful guided instructions. Paint, sip, and end the class with your amazing art as keepsake.
SATURDAY – Up In Smoke Premiere
Up In Smoke: a drag show starring Haus of Blunt and special guests, premieres this Saturday, August 5th, at 10 PM. This event is happening at Spectrum Queer Bar with tunes by DJ Android. This psychedelic and whimsical monthly show will have vendors to shop from, games, and merch.
SUNDAY – Mike Dillon’s Punkadelick @ Whirled Pies
A special show is happening at Whirled Pies this August 6th, at 8 PM: Mike Dillon’s Punkadelick will perform, along with Nikki Glaspie and Brian Haas. Experience a night of live post-bop jazz, funk, and avant-garde rock for $15 the day of the show, or $10 when purchased in advance.
