THURSDAY-SUNDAY – 2023 Scandinavian Festival
The 2023 Scandinavian Festival is happening this weekend right outside of Eugene! Starting on Thursday, August 10th, and lasting until Sunday, August 13th, partake in free admission and free entertainment at this 100% volunteer operated and not-for-profit festival. Enjoy delicious food, folk dancing, music performances, and cultural demonstrations. Each day highlights a different Scandinavian country.
Thursday: Norway, 10 AM – 10 PM
Friday: Sweden, 10 AM – 10 PM
Saturday: Denmark, 10 AM – 10 PM
Sunday: Finland, 9 AM – 9 PM
FRIDAY – Morena’s Hot Pot
This Friday, August 11th, enjoy an all-ages drag show and lipsync battle at Spectrum. Your host Morena is joined by an amazing cast of new and returning performers and judges. This show tends to fill up quickly, so get to the show early to secure your spot! Doors open at 6 PM, and the show starts at 7 PM.
SATURDAY – Preserving Tomatoes Talk
The OSU Master Food Preservers will be at Down to Earth this Saturday, August 12th for a talk on preserving tomatoes. Learn how to preserve spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, and tomato paste all at once. This free talk runs from 11 AM – 1 PM.
SATURDAY – Babe Night Burlesque: A Self Love Celebration
Babe Night Burlesque: A Self Love Celebration is happening this Saturday, August 12th, from 8 PM – 10 PM at The Hybrid. This event is calling all beautiful babes of all genders and sizes for an evening of burlesque, shopping, and confidence-boosting! Start the evening with a posing workshop, followed by burlesque performances, and a Q&A afterwards. Local shopping, drinks, and the Get Toasted food truck will be available during the event. Doors open at 7 PM, the show is 21+ and starts at 8 PM. The cover is $20 and please remember to support your local performers by bringing cash for tips!
SUNDAY – The Hip Abduction @ The Big Dirty
The Hip Abduction will be performing with Vana Liya at The Big Dirty this Sunday, August 13th. Join this genre-bending sonic expedition starting at 8:45 PM, the doors open at 8 PM. Advance tickets are $15, and $20 at the door.
